Back in 2006, MM Shopfitting and Joinery were appointed to fit out their first store by West Cornwall Pasty Co. It was a small kiosk at the Oval Cricket Ground, which was turned round on time and to budget working off very little information. This started a growing relationship as the company expanded. They were clearly bowled over as we hit it for six.
Shopfitting
“We do what it says on the tin” – Shopfitting, retail fit outs, retail construction, fitting out, however you want to refer to it, we will produce a retail space for you to sell your products in, whether it is a fashion boutique in a high end department store in London or a corner shop in Torquay, a café in Aberdeen or a duty free store in Belfast airport, we have done it and can do it again.
If you have an idea for a store and have a location, we can help make that dream come true without it being a nightmare. We will help clients prepare their drawings, advise on what will work, what can be built and how it can be done. We can convert those plans into reality.
Joinery
If you want a store to look special then often it needs the specialist joinery, whether it is purpose made doors, counters, displays, sash windows or timber shopfronts, we have the ability to make these and install them.
The materials can vary from solid hardwoods, laminates, solid surfacing such as Corian, steel, brass, acrylic, glass, fabrics and Perspex. We will produce fabrication drawings for approval, prior to manufacturing we will discuss and work out the best process to build and to maintain, and then when agreed we will manufacture.
Project Management
Project Management must be the most over used and vaguest phrase in the construction industry. Everybody is doing it but few are really following a project from the start to its opening and afterwards while it is operating.
We will offer this service but prefer to call it construction management, it is not just about one project, it is about a continuation of helping a client with their estate, from that initial start, getting the approvals and permissions; the advice in making the proposals realistic and affordable, the knowledge of how long it will take, what hoops have to be jumped through, the programming of the works and meshing all the different trades and suppliers.
The opening of the premises, the permits, the ability to trade, we will be there to help and guide and once it is trading we can help in maintaining and adapting to suit the market. These are the services we will offer, not just project management, a whole lot more.

“We only seem to get the awkward ones” – this is often what our teams say and that is because we can do them and have done them for some time. We have built stores in all the main transport hubs in London, Network Rail sites, TfL sites and airport sites, all of them challenging, all of them high risk locations and all of them possible if you have the experience and the quality in the team.
In addition to the transport hubs we have worked in the Historic Palaces, museums, all of the major shopping centres throughout the UK and sports stadia.
Design Services
As part of our fit out we will offer a full design service, we can produce full working drawings for a fit out of a major flagship store though to a manufacturing drawing for a simple waste bin.
Each one will be worked on by our designers who have a hands on experience and know how things are built, how they work and what is needed.
